JMI Should Ensure Safety of Students: CPI MP

Certain concerned students and teachers informed CPI Parliamentary Group Leader Binoy Viswam that a student of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was attacked by miscreants in the JMI campus on the evening of 11th August, 2023. The victim of this attack is Mr. Adil Salah, a IIIrd year student of Bachelor of Architecture in JMI, a resident of Kochi in Kerala. The aggressors beat up the student and later threatened him with consequences. The student received several threatening calls later and he was told to leave the campus. The aggressors also told him that they will compel him to go back to his home in Kerala. This chain of events indicates the unfortunate incident of ragging and harassment in the esteemed campus of JMI.

The CPI MP from Kerala urged the Vice Chancellor to inquire into the incident and do justice with the situation.
