CPI Units Celebrate Republic Day

Communist Party of India units all over the country celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Republic Day with all grandeur and splendor, hoisting National Flag, decorating party offices and taking out processions. Speakers urged the masses present at the meetings to save the Constitution, country and people. They were also reminded of the principles on which the ethos of our country has been built and that are our sovereignty, equality for all, freedom of expression, secularism, socialism and several others. Our Republic Day is also the day of adoption of Constitution. We will always stand by our Constitution and democracy. Following are some of the glimpses of the festivities CPI state units followed on the Day.

Delhi


In the national capital, the anniversary was celebrated in party central headquarters, AjoyBhavan. Party national council secretary PallabSengupta hoisted the National Flag. National council secretary Rama Krushna Panda addressed the gathering.

Kerala
The district units of the party in the state marked the day by hoisting the Flag. In the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram, party state council secretary, BinoyViswam MP, who is also a national council secretary, hoisted the National Flag at the state council office at P S Smarakam. After hoisting the Flag, BinoyViswam addressed the gathering, explained the present crucial political national and international developments and urged the masses to save the Constitution, country and people.

Andhra Pradesh
As part of the celebrations, a procession was taken out with 75 feet National Flag through the streets of Vijayawada.
CPI state council secretary K Ramakrishna hoisted the National Flag at state party headquarters Dasari Bhavan. Addressing the masses after hoisting the Flag, K Ramakrishna said that secular, democratic and left parties have to remain united in order to defend Indian Constitution architected by Dr BR Ambedkar. Prior to the hoisting function, an impressive procession was taken out by the party Vijayawada city council, carrying 75 feet national flag from Marx-Engels Statue at Hanumanpet of Vijayawada. The procession culminated into a public meeting at DasariBhavan which was presided over by G Koteshwar Rao, city CPI secretary.

K Ramakrishna in his address further stated that  Dr B R Ambedkar has invested all his efforts in framing the Constitution after widely consulting intellectuals, politicians,workers, farmers, other toiling sections and all sections of society. But Narendra Modiat the Centre and Jaganmohan Reddy in the state are dismantling the Constitution and above all basic principles of secularism, national integration, democracy, etc, enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been making all-out efforts to incite communal tensions in the country. He should be dethroned from power in the forthcoming Parliament elections of 2024. Hence the need of the hour is all left, secular, democratic, and progressive forces must remain united.

AkkineniVanaja, CPI national executive member while addressing stated that NarendraModi government is resorting to blackmail politics. Leaders of Opposition and media do not have the freedom to criticise wrong doings of the government.Democracy is at peril even after 75 years of declaring Republic India. Our country’sunique greatness of unity in diversity is hit under NarendraModi’s regime.
In the programme, revolutionary songs by Chandranayak, state president and R Pitchaiah treasurer of IPTA enthused the audience.

In the programme, Donepudi Shankar, secretary of party NTR district, Ravulapalli Ravindranath, president, Venkata Subbaiah deputy general secretary, state AITUC, Penumatsa Durga Bhavani, state general secretary, NFIW, ChKoteshwar Rao, state president, BKMU, Rajendraprasad and N Leninbabu state president and general secretary of AIYF, Siva Reddy state general secretary of AISF, NakkaVeerabhadra Rao city assistant secretary of CPI were among those who participated in the celebrations.Telangana
Communist Party of India national executive member ChadaVenkata Reddy hoisted the National Flag at party state headquarters MakhdoomBhavan as part of the Republic Day celebrations. After hoisting the Flag, ChadaVentkata Reddy said that NarendraModi government is creating tensions among religions, castes, and regions.

ChadaVenkata Reddy pointed out that even after 75 years after enshrining Constitutional rights, one has to see how much fundamental rights we are enjoying. At present we have to review to what an extent democracy for the people and democracy by the people is being implemented.Rights will not be achieved if we beg, they can be achieved only through struggles. We should awake people’s consciousness and build up people’s movements. We should take an oath to live among people and see that they get fundamental rights. BRS government does not care for the problems of people.

The programme was attended by Pasya Padma, party state secretariat member, K Srinivas Reddy and Bommagan i Prabhakar, NedunooriJyothi,state executive members, PremPavaniparty senior leaderand B Chaayadeviparty city secretary among others.

Republic Day was also celebrated in all other states including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu.
